My husband and I live on a small lifestyle block which had an established garden around the house. The garden was mainly shrubs and annuals which didn't suit me, as I prefer growing things to eat. So, when we moved in the shrubs remained, but the annuals weren't replaced, and in their place is herbs. Although we do have a garden set aside for growing veges, I have been known to grow veges in the flower beds when space has been a bit tight. We also have one garden in which there are only roses, and another in which the roses share the space with other plants. We are aiming for a tree and shrub garden. I'm interested in organic gardening, companion planting and that sort of thing.
