Once again thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I had a really wonderful day at the Show and have already added a couple of photos to my first blog. Realised however it’s probably better to do this stage by stage, so here we are with Part One of predominantly prize-winning entries.
-—————————————————————————————-
First up, Silver Anniversary, winner of first prize for large bloom in a picture frame

-—————————————————————————————-
Next, the best exhibit of a dozen mixed blooms in a box

-—————————————————————————————-

Show Stopper (below) won first prize for three blooms in a vase

-—————————————————————————————-
Sadly though Little Amy below did not win a prize – however, if I’d been a judge …

-—————————————————————————————-
Instead, first prize for a miniature bloom in a glass went to Sunset Strip

This vase of Cider Cup won a second prize for patio roses in a vase (or something like that!)

-—————————————————————————————

Not sure if Black Gold was a prize-winner but its intriguing colour, even darker than my photo below suggests, certainly provided an animated talking point.

-—————————————————————————————

Chelsea Belle managed only third prize in its class but it really took my eye

-—————————————————————————————-
Open Arms has a seductive name to go with its classic hybrid-tea shape and delicate pastel shades

Hope you’ve enjoyed this little sampler.

If so watch out for more photos in Part 2, coming soon.

Thank you Michaella.

Little Amy was very much my favourite too. Of course judges have to award marks against all kinds of rigorous criteria but sometimes you feel that maybe for deserving causes the odd tiny flaw might be overlooked once in a while (not that my untrained eye could detect even the slightest glitch with this eye-catching number).

They're all beautiful. Sometimes there are lots that should win first prize :o)
