Starting To Get Impatient..

I’ve been buying (and collecting) random seeds and bulbs since the Summer but I promised myself I’d at least wait until I get back from my holiday in Prague in mid Feb before I start sowing. It’s not far off now I know but I’m really itching to start now!! I can’t even remember what seeds I have bought to be perfectly honest..
Goes to check…
Hmm.. It seems I have more seeds that I remembered:

I have put my seed order in - definitely too many - but oh, so enticing! I am not ordering from T&M any longer, I went off their plants a couple of years ago after bad experiences and then some of their seeds didn't germinate well, either - remember my pink Escholzia? One plant out of two packets!
OK, it could have been the weather, but seeds from other suppiers were fine.

No I wasn't aware of a seed swap section, I will have to look for it..!
I'm thinking I'll have to buy more seed trays too, especially if my Nan is growing her Sweet Peas and Cosmos again this year. I'm even going to use an (empty) Ferrero Rocher box as a mini-propagator, it looks perfect! The veg can go in the greenhouse at work..
Ah well, I'm sure I have enough will power to wait another few weeks! What are you both growing this year?
I've had a few bad experiences with T&M plants but they replaced them when I phoned up, some of my seeds are from there too so hopefully they'll be alright.
Actually, I bought my cold frame from T&M. It was pretty cheap and nasty (but was still around £40) and didn't fit together perfectly so I gave them a call asking for a refund. They agreed without dispute and said I could keep it when I asked where to send it back!

Save some money Ryde...Save you plastic packaging from and food you buy i.e. mushrooms Not the really deep ones , the shallower ones, about an inch deep, pierce holes in the bottoms and use as seed trays.

I think it would be a good idea to wait until after your holiday unless you have someone you can really trust to look after the seedlings for you. It would be a shame to lose all those.
I shall look forward to seeing them at various intervals of growth if you show their photos . There are lots I haven't heard of.

I've bought plants etc from T&M in past not been impressed at all with them. I've also got loads of seed packets aswell, but i think even if you only plant afew out of a packet it's cheaper than buying them as young plants.

I just planted some Adenium obesum seeds last week. I have one that has just popped up and another that has heaved the soil so it should be up tomorrow or the next day. 2 seeds out of 6 so far. I am so excited to see these plants. :o)

I tried 5 on wet tissue paper once I received them to see if they would germinate.. 3 germinated but only one survived and even that didn't get past the seed-leaf stage.
That could have been down to neglect though..

The seed swap thingy is down the bottom of the page - see the black bar bit and click on 'Garden Plants' . Think it should be somewhere more prominent and better set out myself.... But I find if you put something on there for exchange you tend to get lots of offers of some great seed back - people have been really kind and generous! Re what am I growing...oh blimey....think I'll have to list them down in a blog!

You think you've got loads to sow now - have you discovered the seed/plant swap on this site yet?! I went out the other day and bought a pack of 10 of the half-size seed trays as I wont have room for the larger sort. I've got SO many seeds to sow this year - most of which I've got from swaps with GoYers. Like you, VERY impatient to start sowing! But i'm trying to wait until the end of Feb at least.... :-( Looking forward to seeing your progress :-)
