About me
Hi Folks
My garden has grown somewhat from our initial makeover and so has the money we have spent on it.
However, as you can see from the photos we tend to like a maintenance free garden, and I have tried to zone it somewhat.
We have the area from the French doors which has our rattan sofas, then this leads to the main decking area where we have our table and chairs for dining and our chimnea/firepit.
I have also added a nice little arbour which is a real sun trap in the summer (when we get all of 3 days) sunshine.
As you can see from the photos, I have taken some 'before' shots of our rear garden as it was when we moved into our home. However, as a novice gardener I wanted to make some kind of imprint of my own tastes and I felt the garden longed for something a little more contemporary.
I therefore attempted Stage 1 of my makeover and this involved reshaping the lawn and removing the curves, then adding some stepping stones to make it feel more contemporary.
However, this was always temporary until I had a design in mind, and we have now just completed Stage 3 of the garden makeover with additional decking and some artificial (maintenance free) lawn.
Thanks for looking and please feel free to suggest what you would do with the space or suggestions for planting in the areas I have now.
