Perennial Hollyhock are tall stately and should be planted at the back of the border where their height will add just a touch of majesty. They are also ideal for cottage gardens and as cut flowers.
Provided the soil is not waterlogged or frozen you can plant straight into the garden. Bareroot plants should usually be planted about an inch below the surface. Gently water them in and then water as necessary until the next good rain or during dry periods. Removing faded flowers will generally encourage a second flush of colour in many plants. Each autumn cut plants back to ground level after flowering.
