Clematis Tangutica Bill Mackenzie X 1 Litre Pot
Garden Centre > Plants > Climbers > C
This cultivar is one of the best of the orientalis types and a vigorous climber, growing to about 7m (22ft) in height with a 4m (12ft) spread. It has dark green leaves and huge mustard yellow, lantern shaped flowers, which are followed by whiskery seed heads. This plant may be grown in partial shade or full sun, but prefers rich, well drained soil with the roots shaded. As with all the late flowering clematis, pruning is easy. Simply cut back the stems to a pair of strong buds 15cm to 20cm (6in to 8in) above ground level before growth begins in early spring.
