Pottering On My Plot

How are you coping with the heat? I can’t believe it was 13C last week and today it was 29C the poor plants are as stressed as I am! I have found the best time to garden is early in the morning I was out weeding at 6.30 this morning it was so peaceful just the robin and finches to keep me company.
I have been busy planting up the veg bed with seeds this week. My cabbages plants took a fatal battering from the two thugs who frequent the garden we call them Bonny and Clyde two rotund pigeons who decided yesterday’s lunch was my cabbages. By the time they had finished there was nothing left bar a few stalks. I have replaced them with Brussels Sprouts I told Steve Christmas dinner was on…( it’s Ok he knows i’m a bit potty!)
Any way I built temporary some pigeon proofing that should keep them off for the short term until I sort out proper cage for the veg area.
Seeds and bulbs planted so far, Peas French Beans Leeks Radish Spinach Carrots Parsnips Lettuce
Onions Tomatoes Courgettes Cucumber and Potatoes.

This weekend we have to go and buy fencing for the bottom of the garden but thats for my next blog!
Enjoy the sunshine and put on a hat!

You need to get some Coolglass for that greenhouse.

All looking good and healthy on the veg. plot, Sue ... aren't Pigeons just the most annoying birds at times? ... We have covered so many plants on the plot to deter them ... enjoy your weekend ... :o)
