About me
I garden primarily for wildlife - birds and insects. When I moved here almost 2 years ago the garden looked like a landfill site and there is still what appears to be a 3-piece suite buried in it. I've planted native hedging (hawthorn, wild rose, field maple, spindle and sloe) along one side, have a small veg-patch and a border of bee and butterfly favourites. My problem is I hate depriving anybody and allow beautiful thugs like white dead-nettle, foxgloves, aquilegia, buddleia and others to run riot. It's a mess! As long as there's a flower on it I leave it so there are great spires of grotty brown foxglove with one persistent flower stuck at the top and other eyesores. Not a candidate for 'Open gardens'...
