frustrated gardener

Still got a cast on my leg (foot to knee) as achilles tendon taking ages to heal so eventually cajoled grumpy husband to come to allotment with me before the rain came down- after hours of “yes, in a minute”. Requests to get the strimmer out to try to tame wilderness met with mutterings about how I’d have done well in chain gangs. Once I’d (!) started it up he was away leaving me to pick broad beans, last of rhubarb and first raspberries.Took him so so long have decided to grow everything I can at home in small urban garden and tiny greenhouse- will send pics soon. have got tomatoes, french beans, potatoes and just ventured into the “three sisters” planting that native americans apparently did but don’t think they grew their corn, beans and squash in patio bags. will report on how they grow. Now need to find veg that’ll grow in partial shade down side of house.
Have used plastic shower stool to sit on while gardening and have found endless uses for “helping hand” pick up stick. Maybe will try beetroot and lettuce. anything to prevent cabin fever and endless heartbroken looks at my car parked outside.

I answered your question about the lawn. Looked at your profile and found you were a 'frustrated gardener' in the summer. I hope your heel is healed!!!. I broke my ankle 2/12/11 and even found the winter frustrating, as I still had tasks to do. Even now I have to garden in short sessions then rest. Happy gardening.
