Oh blimey that makes my ponds look like puddles, I`d also refer to it as a lake, are you able to swim in it?

I agree with others who call it a lake. Whatever it is though, it's absolutely beautiful.

You've made a great feature of the pond (I called it a lake too)...do you have no worries about the water being close to where your grandchildren would play?
It must be a great space to relax in your comfy lawn chairs and if a slight breeze comes up to cool you down in summer heat it would be close to perfection :)

The Grandkids are all excellent swimmers. The ones that aren't wear life jackets. All visiting kids must also wear them. The children are never allowed in the pond without adult supervision. Our daughter lives across the pond from us.I feel so blessed to have them near. The kids also enjoy skating in the winter. We are a hockey family...Thank you all for the kind remarks, wish you could come and have a glass of iced tea with me and enjoy the pond and gardens.....I'll post pics of the kids enjoying the water....

How do you manage to have the water so blue? We had a five acre pond on our property and the water was never so blue. Do you stock your pond with fish?

Valerie,
We use a product called "Blue Biyu" it comes in a gal jug.You just use a cup(depending on the size of pond)it is safe for swimming and for fish. The pond is stocked with all kinds of fish.We swim everday and no one has turned blue yet...hehehe I think the dye costs about $50.00 U S It's worth every penny. The water looks so refreshing. For a 5 acre pond, you might have to use the whole bottle, thats a big pond. Our's is about 1/2 acre or so.....Post some pics,I'd love to see your pond or lake....Sandy
