2010 - going for a scented garden

Last year I grew calendula, the usual bedding plants (pansies etc) and plants for hanging baskets (but cannot remember what we put in them). This year I am growing stocks, sweet pea, sweet william, wallflowers, tomatoes (Gardeners Delight) and a raspberry bush and a couple of others but cannot remember their names. We have lots of rose bushes (new one last year was a scented Mr Lincoln – which was my partner’s Nan’s favourite and also a yellow climbing rose which has grown very quickly). I love my rose but moreso I love my fuschias – I have them in the ground and also in pots. I also grow sunflowers (started last year), although they take a while to reach a good height and do not last too long – I abs love them to bits. My happy faces!!!!!

I love roses too - I have three of my Dads roses in the front garden (over 25 years old now) - and the smell is georgeous - a real rose smell. I do hate those roses on sale that have no scent to them - what is the point!!!

Hello Sunflowers and welcome to GoY, your choice of plants sounds great, there`s nothing quite like the scent of a rose on a warm summer evening.
