This is a Caltha Palustris – or a Marsh Marigold to you and me! I found it sitting in the middle of the stream with icy cold water streaming round and over it (it was completely submerged last week). But it doesnt seem to care at all. Very pretty I thought. I looked it up on Wikipedia and it says that it can become a weed in clay gardens so perhaps I ought to look more carefully at all the weeds I have been assuming are ordinary celandines. Given the number I’ve got they can still come up though!
