Dibleys Purchase

We only bought four from Dibleys, I wanted a couple of others but the unexpected cost of that Streptocarpella Boysonberry took up more than we allowed ourselves. It was worth it though because the plant looks very healthy and is a good adition to the hanging basket Streps, like the Saxorum from last year. The three small plants had no flower showing but I anticipate two of them will soon be flowering as good as new. The large White Wendy had a problem and I discovered it had root rot, Dibleys would have replaced it but as there was three good healthy leaves I decided to propergate them and expect more than one plant for next year. I have cut off a collection of leaves from my best Charlaya and Charsan plants, this way I will replac the plants I intend selling at a local garage sale before we head off on our Australian Outback Adventure in September.

Just been watching Gardeners World and they were doing Streptocarpus cuttings on there !!! Coincidence or what.

The reason I do my cuttings this way is because I don't want too many plantlets, just a couple from each leaf. I am inundated with Streps and space will be a premium next year. I missed gardeners world but can get it on the computer, thanks for pointing it out to me.
Have a good day. Tanny.

Nice Blog Tanny, Love the first two pictures. I have a saxorum. Interesting how you propogate your plants. I usually cut down the sides of the backbone and insert it longways. Only trouble is that you get so many little ones, and I can't bear to throw any away so have to find somewhere for them all.
