Blackcap Warblers return for the winter

At this time of year, the birds in my garden are mostly sparrows, with the occasional blackbird and starling.

Absolutely beautiful. Never seen them before.

They're lovely photos of a pretty little bird. Any special food for them at all?

Hi Tanny, welcome back, that's a mammoth task you have with all those photos. Lots of unusual birds amongst them no doubt. :o) Beautiful pictures of the Blackcap, we had one in our garden last winter and he was very possessive of the feeders! Not seen any this year yet.....

That's a lovely bird....I too have never seen one before. We just get the regular birds and not that many at that. It's nice that the Blackcaps return year by year.

such lovely birds, haven't seen one here yet. I do hope that everyone is putting food out for them all. I was saddened by the sight of birds pecking at the ice so I put an aquarium heater in the birdbath, works a treat.
