'Been there done that' with allotments (at 43) and downsized to a kitchen garden that I can fit around a full time job, house running and socialising. People don't realise how time-consuming allotmenting is. I grew up in my Father's vege garden and have only recently been learning about inedibles! Miss being able to grow strings of cooking onions that last me one year to the next but love being able to trot out my door to get a fresh herb or vege for my cooking.
