My 2nd mail order

3 ‘cordyline australis’ arrived this morning from “mailordertrees.co.uk”.

I normally prefer ‘hands-on’ buying, by actually seeing the real plants at garden centres, supermarkets or car-boot sales. My 1st mail order experience was buying blueberry shrubs through the internet and I’m satisfied with them. This time, I was a little bit worried about the quality of the plants and delivery but it turned out to be … brilliant. I’m very happy with the plants, packaging and all; plants are big (80cm tall) and look healthy, each pot has a bamboo stake, they were packed nicely in a big-enough box and they came with notes on how to plant/care for them. Wonderful.

I often saw cordyline australis in Norwich, Plymouth, Bristol, in fact almost everywhere in England and always admired the lovely shape and its exotic ambience. Now I’ve got three of them. Fantastic.

The plants are still small and it will take several years (or more? nearly a decade?) until they get tall but nice to have my own ones. Exciting!

That looks really good quality tm. It should do fine here in Norfolk. There are many around us, and we have one in our back garden. I'll look to see if theres a photo of our's on GoY, can't remember.
I'm sure you'll love your's. Three you said? Hope you have a big garden.
I've just had a quick look tm, and there is one, but its not a close up. Its on the last page of my photos, last on the top line.

I've bought several plants from them too, I have been very pleased with the plants, they looked better than at a garden centre, and are doing really well.
I too were relunctant to buy plants online, this was my first exprience, I was not too keen on Crocuses wrapping.

Welcome Tommy from me too! I have 3 Cordylines in my garden and it really doesn't seem to take them that long to put on a good height, and they are so architectural, and the flower heads are amazing! They can get incredibly tall, so beware where you plant them!! Will try and post some photos of my ones, if it ever stops raining!!! Wishing you great success, warm welcome to GoY :~))
