We visited recently on a perfect day. The garden was at its best. It is not too large to get round. The woodland section is fascinating. The dry garden is free to wander round. There is a new cafeteria with a terrace. The plant centre is wonderful. A plantspersons dream. I bought more Heuchera....couldn't resist. GJ managed the dry garden before he went and sat in the car, while I went round the garden.

This is definitely worth a visit. Lots of garden rooms, and seats, so you can take your time. Lots of rhodos so end May early June best time, but also autumn should be good with so many acers.

Absolutely wonderful plantsman's garden which is packed with plants of all types. Some beautiful woodland plants, a pond and quarry garden, superb planting combinations. Anyone within a reasonable distance should make this garden a priority! It's only open Wednesdays and Saturdays during the summer but it really is un-missable.

A wonderful place for people of any age, plenty to see and loads of things to keep the little'uns happy too. I would suggest that you take with you a packed lunch as although there is a very charming cafe there it appears to get really busy and you stuggle to find a table never mind a seat!

Senseable walking shoes is a must as the grounds are huge there are so many gardens and plants to see you could spend a full day there.

The only flaw is that 'they' do hire a suite out near the glass houses and you do feel strange mixing with the party guests.

Great prices at £7 per adult what a bargain!Hel.xxx.

A small but beautiful garden to visit one of the best features is the old quarry pit now a large pond fed by the waterfall from the rocks high above home to many bamboo's and other moisture loving woodland plants
