New borders: First ever attempt!
The first half of the garden has mature trees and not much space for anything else. I decided to clear up space at the back and make some new borders.
So, first step was to clear up
Here’s my blank canvas.
I wasn’t sure what the soil condition was like, so I dug in a lot of compost. Then, last autumn I planted some daffodils and heaved a sgh of relief when they made an appearance!
During the spring and early summer I put in geraniums, an acer, a hardy fuschia, seeds of some annuals, bulbs, etc.
Finally, there was colour in the garden!
This is what my back garden looks like now. Needless to say, I’m very pleased, especially as I can sit in the summerhouse and enjoy the fruits of my hard labour!

You've made a great transformation Wannabe. It looks so lovely now. It's nice to sit and look at all you've acomplished isn't it? I've got a few different seating areas and it's good to sit and look at a different view sometimes. Well done.

Looking great well done on all your hard work.
And now you will look back and enjoy and realise a garden is never finished adding to or removing.
