I live in the Lincolnshire Wolds (300ft) in a very rural location, and with very extensive views. The garden is about half an acre, with a little 'woodland' strip to the north. The soil is very fertile loam and receives full sun (except for the woodland). The garden is only 10 years old but looks more mature because of the rate of growth with the superb soil.
The garden is shared with our two Irish Wolfhounds, but only one of them is a 'digger'!
I tend to grow large and/or unusual plants (including 9 types of bamboo), and currently have one plant which is so uncommon that I'm told the national collection holder doesn't yet have it! It's syringa emodi varigata.
