I took a branch from my hibiscus to local garden centre, it has no buds this year, just grey growth, turns out its lichens, a result of a very cold winter, and a wet summer, will be sad to loose this lovely 15 year old shrub

Yes it makes me realise just what a bad winter can do, I did not protect it at all, if yours has leaves now, it should with any luck flower this season, hope so, its such an exotic looking plant, good luck Angie

Thats a shame Maureen :( - I planted a hibiscus last year and it too is very slow although of what leaves it has, they are green - must do a reminder to wrap it up in the winter if it survives the summer
