Kind of gardening related (ish?) - my sister made me promise to post a picture of her cake. Made by my mum and a friend of hers it's 100% edible, although I don't know if anyone has tried a sunflower yet!

Just posted on your blog.
Now found the cake.
Could I please have a piece from the top layer, with some sunflower petals and a leaf. Thanks. It looks truly scrumptious.
Final thought :
Did Peter's Mum and friend deliberately make a flower design so that the cake is eligible for GoY ?
~ good thinking. :o)

Thanks everyone :o) No sunflower seeds in the cake itself, it was a traditional fruit cake.

A lovely cake! Are the flowers edible too? If they are they must have taken ages to make,

Hi Pasuki, they are, and yes they did :o) I think the petals were finished with an airbrush!! I'm not sure anyone's actually tried one yet, but they're definitely edible.
