Not much going on

Hey guys… I haven’t been very active on here, but I didn’t want you to think I was missing in action. I’m still looking at everybody’s blogs and pictures…. there just really isn’t much going on in my garden at this moment. My bulbs are basically spent and aside from my phlox and speedwell, nothing else is really in bloom yet. Oh well… all of my trees look stunning I guess. My crab apple and weeping cherry have been in bloom, but even those are starting lose their blossoms.
I do have a nice story about my neighbors though. They are getting ready to fix their privacy fence in the backyard and invited my DH and I to dig up and take all of their hostas lining the fence. There are dozens of them!!!! :) It was very nice and we definitely have the space to fill. If we were to purchase that amount at the nursery it would have been hundreds of dollars probably… But it sure was muddy when we were over there digging them out! I am glad they invited us to do that. Last year they put chemicals on a whole border of ferns to kill them off. I wish they would have called us over for them! But at least we saved the hostas; they will have a nice home in our garden (free of chemicals) haha!
Also, my sister just recently started working at a plant nursery. She had been looking for work for a long while. I am very excited for her. She has a lot to learn (but we never stop learning, do we?). I haven’t been up to visit the nursery yet, but will be doing so next weekend. Plus, she gets a 20% discount! Cha-ching! :)
Well, everybody, keep posting the pictures and blogs. They tide me over until my garden is blooming :)
Hopefully I’ll have some lovely pictures to share… sooner rather than later :)

Lovely to hear from you, sounds as if saving those hostas was a labour of love, they're quite difficult to dig up! Lucky you now you've got them, you could probably split the bigger ones up, and make them go even further! Well done on your Sis getting the lovely job with the even lovelier staff discount! Whoohoo!!! More plants! Can we come too?! Take care! :0}

Thanks for the comments everybody! :)
Helen and Linda - I am very happy for her... and extremely JEALOUS of her! :D
Lulu - Hooray, indeed! Free plants always deserve a cheer!
Libet - you are welcome to come... but I think the travel cost to the US would be quite a bit more than the 20% off savings!! hahaha ;)

I'm glad you were able to save the hostas. it would have been a shame if they got killed off.

I really don't know what they plan on planting after getting rid of the ferns and hostas... their yard is completely shaded and pretty soggy. Those are the only things that were growing in the back yard and they apparently don't like them. I'm curious to see their plans....

How strange ! I wonder about their plans aswell. Maybe they will just have concrete :(

I'm sure my future blogs posts will include info on the "plans" as I see them form... maybe they'll surprise me and do something fabulous with the site... :) Either way, they are a very nice and generous couple and I am happy to have them as neighbors. :)

Good blog Lainedru! Well done to your Sister, what a brilliant job.. (which to us wouldn't really be work but a pleasure) with 20% off, now that's a job worth holding on too! It wont take long to learn, especially when she's with the plants for a long time each week! Pity about the ferns, I'm sure your neighbours would've offered you the ferns had they known you'd be interested, but that was very nice of them to give you all the hosta's, saving lots of money.. that's a big bonus!
