Today I was watering my plants at 6:30am in the dark (this is when you realize WHY we need daylight savings time!) and realized it was a cool 60 F!! I even had to wear a light sweater because of the wind…the sun was barely rising, it was nothing but a band of dark orange when I first when out onto the balcony. I could still see the stars – the big dipper, orion’s belt; I wondered if the brightest star low on the horizon could be Venus? No moon though.
What a nice way to start the day! Now, at 7:42am, I finally see that the sun is blazing bright yellow through the window shades…
I went out this past weekend and bought some Indian corn, of course I hadn’t meant to, which is what often happens to me, but it looked so nice and Fall-like that I succumbed and bought it… This year I went for deeper shades of plum and red; last year was more of a yellow/bluegray season…=)
I just love these rich colors…
By the time I took the picture of the sunrise, the orange glow had taken over the sky, soon to be replaced by a lighter peach and eventually yellow and then bright:

How lovely - and so nice to hear about different parts of the world!
It was a chilly 3 degrees C here this morning - but now its an amazing autumn afternoon and the temp has risen to 21 deg C!
