Daisy days.

Since I don’t have a car, I walk everywhere that’s near enough to walk. On my way to Walgreen’s (a pharmacy/convenience store) I usually pass this townhouse that has all of these daisies in its tiny front garden…I love daisies and hadn’t seen this many all together before…Here is the black-eyed susan (my knowledge of flower names is limited – if it’s not a black-eyed susan, please let me know!!) lol
I also loved these white ones with ragged petals:
Here are some beautiful red gerberas – one of my favorite flowers as well as my maternal grandmother’s – my mom had a huge arrangement of nothing but gerbera daisies (all colors) for my grandmother’s funeral! =0 :
And these small yellow ones:
It was around noon when I took these pictures, and I think the owners were home…but luckily they didn’t seem to mind a stranger taking pictures of their flowers, LOL.

Thanks Greenthumb. I half expected someone to come out and ask what the heck I was doing! It did surprise me, because I thought flowers for funerals had to be all white...but apparently this is not the case in El Salvador. People also gave her bird of paradise and red nasturtium? so it was pretty colorful.
Thank you, Lincslass.

White flowers for funerals, is this traditional in The States? Here we seem to choose the deceased favourite flowers. My Father's favourite flower was the rose, he spent many hours visiting rose growers, choosing the right plant for the right position in his garden. In June his garden was beautiful, full of healthy roses bursting into colour and filling the garden with their perfume. He was always delighted to see a rose still in flower on Christmas Day. His favourites were the deep red roses so that's what we chose for his funeral, with a few sprigs of heather from his homeland.

Hi Xela, that's my understanding of it, but I have never been to a funeral in the States. However I've had to buy two bouquets to send and the choices for funeral flowers always seem to be white or very muted colors. Deep red roses must have looked beautiful at your father's funeral.

Oh, brave. lol. I've been in your shoes shooting pics before. :-) Looks like a lovely bunch. I like the story of your grandmothers funeral of all gerberas.
