Amazing changes.

While editing and catalogueing my roses, looking back through my photograph albums, it is amazing the differnce in the garden over the years. It is 14 years since we made our garden from a greenfield site. Owing to the cost everything was planted from very tiny shrubs, cuttings or pieces friends have given, consequently the borders were temporaly scatterd with annuals to make a show and fill in all the gaps. Saving the seeds from one year to the next. What a display of colour! Now that everything has matured and filled out, there is little room for annuals, more the perenials and different shades of greens with the evergreens and the various shrubs, trees and roses. Perenials underplanted with bulbs for the spring. Not the blaze of colour to dazzle the eyes, but a steady sobering effect with less work, other than the pruning now that everything is outgrowing its space. That’s gardening, and what keeps us fit!! You can see the difference in some of my garden photos.

It's surprising how quickly things grow. I've seen the photos and you've done a lot of work there.

m now at the 7 year mark Telme....it's great to see the plants beginning to mature at last. A lot of things have come and gone already, but that's gardening isn't it, there's always lots to do and changes to make...like your new path and patio. My newest change is a kitchen garden to a shade garden.
