Keukenhof bulbs

Last year we went to Keukenhof – wonderful flowers, well worth a visit. Was so excited I bought lots of packets of bulbs for my garden, all on “special offer”. Also visited the flower market in Amsterdam and bought loads more packets of bulbs. I was told they were ok for this year and to give them plenty of water. Needless to say they all rotted. If I had thought about it I would have realised that the bulbs should have been planted autumn-winter and to plant them in April was barmy. I thought I had got some real bargains, but what a mistake. Please don’t be led astray as I was!

Welcome to GoY.
Enjoy !
That's a pity the bulbs rotted, but I'm sure you have lots of other lovely spring plants looking good in your garden.
Happy Easter :o)

To anyone who hasn't been to Keukenhof Gardens, I would say YOU MUST GO!!! It's absolutely brilliant and awe-inspring. The only downside is, you will come home and be disappointed with your own garden

I am disapointed that Keukenhof were selling bulbs like that. I can understand it in the market but not from a respected garden.
