Spring Gardening

Yesterday was April 17th and it was twenty degrees all day. Dan (that’s my partner) :-) and i decided to start a herb garden. We have an old white sink from the refurb of the house that we decided to use as the pot- we used miracle gro soil in the pot with little of garden soil. We filled the sink halfway with pebbles from the garden and a little gravel from the drive then put the soil on top. Into that we planted Mint (in it’s own pot to stop it spreading) thyme (which is flagging a little now) chives which are doing fantastically and coriander (little worried about leaving that outside) We waited until evening to water them. can’t wait to plant some more

Coriander will be fine outdoors (although you may have put this one out a bit too early). I can grow it successfully in the garden, but only if planted out early June at the soonest, to avoid threat from frosts and Spring winds. if it fails, replace later on (and supermarket "kitchen-window" herbs in pots do just as well outdoors in summer).
