Wind break

We have a narrow passage between out house and a side garden leading into the back garden , last winter the cruel wind burnt the foliage off a lovely Acer in its pathway ..

I had to find a solution , I came up with a design which I thought would solve the problem after seeing a sheet of tin plate metal in a junk store ..
It’s the left over portion from a metal worker who makes weather vanes , its approx 4ft x 3ft ..

As usual I had to call on the help of my Hubby , he built a little brick wall to mount it on with a wooden surround topped off with narrow wicker work ..

If you look closely you can see the N S E W also the arrow shapes of the weather vane

What do you think?

That is absolutely lovely. You see this really posh cut metal sheets on the garden makeover shows, out of most people's price range. this one is lovely a real talking point with all the shapes to study and work out what they were! And...top marks to Hubby for the surround, couldn't be better.

Looking closely at the cut out sections, on the metal sheet, I think I can see a squirrel and a dog maybe.

Fantastic it looks great and to make a feature out of something recycled is even better, a great talking point when you have visitors, and it shows you have artistic vision, well done.
