Finding my way round!

Well- I joined this site ages ago – went away for a while and now I am back I am still finding my way round!!
It will take me a while to have a good nose around at everyones gardens,photos and blogs but I will enjoy doing it!!
We are just about recovering from our NGS Open Day on July 19th – we had a fantastic day – 185 visitors and we raised over £650.00! Everyone was so kind about our garden – it makes all the hard work beforehand worthwhile.
Now we have to make our minds up if we are going to open next year!
There are a couple of parts of the garden that need some serious thought – still we can do that over the Winter!
We are going to have a few weeks just pottering and then cuttings season starts again- I won’t think about that just yet though!
All the Family helped out on Open Day and we had a lovely meal together afterwards -and a few glasses of wine!!
I did loads of baking for the Teas 2 Choc cakes,2 Lemon Drizzles,Victoria sponge,2 dozen decorated Fairy Cakes,a Sultana cake and 6 dozen scones!
I am going to sow some seeds this afternoon. Foxgloves,Delphiniums and Sweet Williams – I know I am a bit late but will keep my fingers crossed!
As well as the garden we have 2 allotments and hubby has just found out he has been awarded 2nd prize in the Borough competition – he desrves it as he works very hard on the allotments!

I wondered that thought you had changed your mind about posting that bit LOL, sounds like a successful day Anita, raised a lot of money, well done! and well done hubby! look forward to some photos.

Welcome back Anita, glad the Open Day went so well, it must be a very nerve wracking thing to do, not to mention all the hard work! I look forward to seeing the photos too.

I wondered that, Anita. I thought perhaps you were trying to hide the bit about the few glasses of wine(Ha Ha)
Better late than never with the seeds. But they still have time to establish before the cold weather and , hopefully, if the slugs don't get them(particularly the Delphs) you'll have a great show next year!

Congrats to hubby on his award. That is really great news; he works so hard (you both do).......Its not the wine Paul...its the ******, nah....I won't tell on you Anita...lol

I don't have the answer about the lines either but Ajay or Peter might. I pm Ajay. Hopefully we'll find out soon.

got the answer to the strike through. you used a dash before and after the words that are lined out. Edit the blog and remove the dashes and the line will disappear. Thanks Ajay for the info. my guess the reason more words are not lined out is because there is a space between the dash and the word. Just guessing there. try putting a space between the word and the dash and see if the line disappears.
