autumn

After our previous visit to the Botanic Gardens, my elder girl kept pestering us to bring her there again to feed the swans, fishes, terrapins, as they are hungry …

So she fed the swans and the terrapins.

This little fella is left out of the feast as he’s too shy

Done with the swans, we went over to Symphony lake to feed the fishes.

We didn’t bring any food for the lizard

Nas pointed out some plants which I’ve never seen before, but she’s familiar with it, since she has it back home.

Coffee

Buah Sukun, Breadfruit

This flower is pretty and the leaves are edible (per Nas … no, I didn’t try it)

There’s a row of hibiscus, of different varieties, and the yellow is on my “to buy list”

Its another evening well spent

Do the terrapins nip at the black swans? - a friend on mine had a pet terrapin and it was the most vicious thing I had come across.

Thank you all for the comments ...

Ducky, there are hundreds of terrapins in the 3 lakes in the Botanic Gardens ... I sure hope they (terrapins) are friendly, because if they aren't eh, nice ... the 2 black swans and 4 white swans will have to watch their toes at all times

I so enjoyed your blog and reminds me onmy visit in 2000 to Singpore on route to Austraila and had a pleasant day in the Botanic gardens and all the orchids.

My husband brought me back orchids from Singapore 22ndMarch and they are still in bloom Autumn.

Scotkat, some things don't change in the Gardens.... the swans' been there for a long time. Not sure if they are the same swans ... but there are always swans there ....

That's the good thing about orchids ... they last quite a while ....
