New Beginnings.......

It’s been about a month since I started reviving my little garden. Been very busy! Every morning I jump out of bed and run down to see what flower has opened, if a newly planted plant has grown, and reevalute my progress.

Some new additions to the garden, in the past week, include Echinacea Purpurea Magnus, Echinacea White Swan, Echinacea Pink, Younique Carmine Astilbe, Anouk French Lavender, Dwarf Burning Bush (euonymus alatus ‘Compactus’), Boursault Rhododendron, Palace Purple Coral Bells, Valley Fire Pieris, and Younique Silvery Pink Astilbe.

Still have some mulching and cleaning up to do. And, maybe I can find room for just one more plant!

Oh, the anticipation………..

Thank you, Tulsalady! My garden cannot compare with the extraordinary gardens that belong to GoY members, but it is a source of great enjoyment for me. Best of luck in your gardening endeavors this year!

Pieris is one of my favorites, too. What a shame they only bloom for such a short period of time.

is it quite hot where you live? i feel as if mine has colour for a lot of months of the year ~ i am quite happy with its new red shoots, i like them as much as the flower!

During the summer, we can have extended periods where the temperature exceeds 90 degrees. It is usually very humid, also. I am very anxious to see how this variety of pieris grows this year. It does have a beautiful red color. That is what got my attention in the garden center.

i have about 8 of them in my small garden, several different varieties, there is a lovely chocolate coloured one too.
if i could only have one shrub it would be this one.

I have never seen a chocolate colored one. Maybe this will be that one plant I'll have to find room for! ; ) Off I go to the garden center.
