I sit with my back to the rest of it lol.
The hedge will be trimmed right back, the gravel removed and any planting.
The Portuguese Laurel will stay.
The gravel will be replaced with hexagonal paving for the patio set and surrounded by paving and gravel.

Oh my lots of work to be done, you will be very busy, it will be great when you are all done. Hope it doesn't take too long for you to be sat out on your patio and decking. You need some good weather for all that work. Good luck with it all.

Thanks all, there is no way we could,ve done it ourselves, there will be at least 3 chaps doing the work and they work very fast.
When they did our front garden they had it cleared of grass and shrubs by the end of the 1st day!
Gotta love a mini digger!

Get the bottle of wine on ice to enjoy when it's all done, and have a lovely sunny evening lined up to crack it open.......

Thanks Karen, it isnt bad it but it can be better, I can't wait to be rid of the grass, I hate spending so much time, grass cutting and weeding, when I could be doing more enjoyable things like tending veg, growing plants from seeds etc..

It will make it look a lot bigger just by cutting the hedge, we don`t all like lawns, I actually love mine but it does take a lot of looking after, your plans for the patio sound very nice..

Gosh, I hope this doesn't sound rude, but I'm glad for your sake that you are getting the professionals in - there's a mountain of work to do here. In a way, though, what you've got at the moment has a certain charm.
It's all very exciting, isn't it? How long is it supposed to take until you get your garden of Eden?
