Hi Booboo :) I just recieved mine last week, same as you, about 12". Some-one on another forum ordered 10 and they are double the size with more leave's :( gutted :)))
I treat Nanas as annuals up here but as im buying a heater for the G/house this winter they might just survive so, not a waste of money at all Diane B! as to buy in spring they are at least £25 without P&P thats if i can source them because they were rare to find this year because of the awfull spring.

Very good price if you have somewhere to overwinter them!! good luck!

Dee, my one died indoors last year. I bought one this year from Hampton court flower show from amulree exotic and I told him about my last one, he said bananas are root hardy so are better off in the ground. The way to overwinter them is to let the leaves die down, then cut them off, then make a circle of canes around it, with chicken wire around the outside of the canes then fill the space in between with straw. This is what I intend to do, hope it works ?.
