My poor garden

After 3 days of an unusual heatwave this weekend past , which made it’s way up too 37°c , some plants just could not cope .

Monday came and things have now gone to the opposite extreme , we had a little storm and totally devastated my garden , branches off of my butterfly tree and plants flattened. Had to end up cutting some stunning spring flowers because they were laying over on the grounds so made a quick flower arrangment .

It is still feeling like winter and it is almost summer , but not complaining … I am not looking forward to the heat .

oh that is a shame Brentsa. I often have to take snapped flowers indoors to enjoy them. We have had a pretty sharp frost here today.

Think i was just meant to be busy In the garden today .
While I was busy I heard someone shouting from next door for me , my elderly aunt was busy in the garden and had fallen and knocked her head , unable to get up . If I was not outside , I would never have heard her and I had no intention of being busy in the garden today .

What a good job you were outside. Odd how sometimes things seem to be planned for us. Do hope your poor Aunt is all right?

oh that is sad for your aunt I do hope she is not seriously hurt and recovers quickly physically and she hasn't lost her confidence. But this was destiny. Good job you were there.

Seaburngirl she is fine thank goodness ,thank you for the good wishes, i have the house key so just checked on her now and made her a cup if tea . But so true Eirlys sometimes things really are planned out for us , something just told me to go out into the garden and thank God I listened ... normally at that time of the day I would be studying .

I'm sorry to hear about your bad weather. I can quite understand how you feel having experienced bad weather conditions here also. I hope your garden recovers from the effects in time.

We had a very hot summer this year, but now it's autumn.

Thats what happened to me Brentsa. Get your Aunt's
blood pressure checked, she may need lots of water to drink to get it to the right numbers. I was taken to the hospital when I couldnt get up, put on a drip for 8 hours. As the water went down in the suspended bag the strength returned to my legs. Hard to believe.
Will only go out in the garden now when someone is handy
in case the same thing happens again. We oldies are not so strong as we think we are. Am drinking 3 pints of tepid water daily, plus another glass of water before meals now.

Very sensible Diane, but a bit of a trial to remember to do it.

Brentsa what a good thing you were around!

Thanks everyone , Diane , she is not too well at the moment , she is in her 90's and has heart sugar and blood pressure issues and that's why she is so weak . Unfortunately she gets bored sitting all the time and still wants to move about especially because 6 months she was very much in her garden And recently my aunt had to let the nurse go that was looking after because of theft .

I'm moving in two days time and I am so scared something is going to happen and I am not here , but positive thoughts !!
