Bleak and Bare in January?

The winter garden looks very bleak and bare – if you just take a quick look at it. But look more carefully and you might find that this is not so. Whist our garden is not awash with colour, not by any means, an inspection today found flowers on all of the following plants.
In the open garden:
Cyclamen coum
Crocus chrysanthus var.
Eranthis hyemalis
Snowdrops
Winter Jasmine
Primula
Helleborus foetidus
Helleborus hybridus
Campanula poscharskyana (2013 remnant)
Daphne blagyana
Daphne mezereum
Daphne mezereum alba
Daphne laureola
Polygala chamaebuxus
Heather
Mahonia x media
Viburnum x badnatense
In the unheated greenhouse:
Narcissus ‘Camoro’
Primula allionii
Not bad for an apparently bleak and bare garden.

I went for a wander round the garden at lunchtime and said to Bulba 'there are a lot more flowers out than you think'… there you go!

That's a lot :o) Many people don't seem to appreciate the winter flowerers.
I've been able to grow a Cyclamen coum this year, for the first time ever ! I am pleased it hasn't died on me again ... and it is coming into flower now :o)

Mostly what Bulba has posted are not 'winter' flowers just flowers that are blooming almost out of season - today I spotted a P. denticulata in bloom!
