Winter Learning

Being the sort of person who easily gets bored when I am stuck indoors during bad winter weather, I have been trying to find something to keep my mind occupied. What I have come up with is a new offshoot of the Open University (OU).
‘Future Learn’ is a company owned by the OU to run short on-line courses to connect learners from around the world. The whole thing is brand new and the first course, on Web Technology, starts on Monday. These first courses are pilot courses so that the organisers can see how well they work and they are FREE!
I have signed up for a course starting on 11 November entitled “An Introduction to Ecosystems”. This is a six week course requiring a commitment of three hours per week taken whenever the student wishes. If I enjoy this course I will then sign for one in January on Climate Change.
These courses will give me something to do and, hopefully, stretch my mind a bit! If you want to know more visit:

Snoop, I don't do cooking (never have) but I am already an excellent and experienced 'washer-up'. As for housework well, my favourite motto is 'a clean house is the sign of a wasted life'! ;-)

Good luck ! It's interesting to join something like that in the winter. I hope you enjoy it. I used to enrol for a class or two in years gone by, but had to go out in the winter nights. It's nice you can do it from home, and in your own time.

thank-you. I've been looking around for something for the same reason, I will definitely have a look.

That is very interesting Bb. I had a look. I would be interested at some time in the future. I will keep this in favourites. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Great idea and a nice attitude Bulba. Just like "A tidy desk is a sign of a sick mind". Let us know how you get on.

So is mine Seaburngirl. I don't think I could do any learning any more as I forget everything these days, its quite scary.

I know Bulbaholic. Not too sure what I've let myself in for, but I couldn't decide on one as they all seemed interesting and I thought I might as well make the most of it whilst they are free!
