Desert Roses and Snail Shells

It’s been such a beautiful morning here in the foothills. It’s currently 25 deg C and partly cloudy with a fresh feel in the air. There’s still a hint of bush fires hanging around the ranges in the distance though.

There was a decent downpour of rain very early this morning which woke me up and immediately made me smile! We’re supposedly coming to the end of our dry season soon, and the garden is looking forward to increasing amounts of rain. Fingers crossed!

I’ve wandered around the place and noticed a few blooms on my Adenium obesums (Desert Roses). I’ve been planting more and more of these in various garden beds and while it’s taken a while for them to become established, they seem to have settled in now.

I’m particularly pleased to see the double blooms on this one! It’s my first double.

While wandering, I picked up another of the snail shells I often come across in the garden areas. Snails are not a menace in my garden and they are a favourite snack for our resident family of kookaburras. I’ve started collecting the shells and showing them off out on our verandah.

It's interesting to hear of your garden, Bushbernie. I've never heard of Desert Roses. They look very attractive.

Angelat, the Desert Roses (Adeniums) are becoming a very common sight in gardens around here as they are so drought tolerant and hardy in our dry tropics conditions.

Seaburngirl, I too love the colour of this one. It was an unexpected surprise - the colour and the double bloom - so I'm very happy with it.
