Clean Out Continues and Caladiums on Show

I was up with the birds this morning and started another early morning shift in the garden before the temp. climbed quickly. By mid-morning it was 30 deg C and by midday we hit 32.
I was able to finish off clearing out all the driveway garden beds and created many, many more piles of debris.
Whilst it’s still rather desolate and bare out there, to my eyes anyway, I do feel better now that it’s tidier and relatively weed-free.
Elsewhere around my place …
Our resident Stony Creek Frog was still on the verandah, squishing itself into a different corner today. It backs in and contorts his rear end before settling in for the day!
I’m very pleased with the show my potted Caladiums are putting on right now. I feel there are a few more spots that could be filled in Caladium Corner out in the courtyard, so I’m keeping my eye out for some bargains!
Looking over to the hill across from our property, you can now notice burnt patches left behind after last week’s bush fire.

Thanks Angelat. One of my favourite shade-loving plants here in the dry tropics. There are so many varieties you can get now!

Hi BB you have drawn my attention to those beautiful Caladiums..what a collection you have..
It must take a very long time for the hot embers to die down especially in your high temps..
Isn't it a great feeling when you've finished tidying up an area until the next time!!

Trying to build my collection of Caladiums Meadowland, but they're just so expensive now!!
It did take quite a few days for the bush fire embers to die out altogether, but thankfully we didn't experience any high winds during that time.
Yes, I'm feeling so good about finally clearing out the mess growing everywhere in those driveway garden beds. It looks much tidier now and I'm a lot happier about that.

Those Caladiums have really spectacular coloured leaves. I like them all.

Your Caladium collection is so exotic and striking to look at.
Love your resident frog! What a unique little visitor.
I do hope the bushfires have settled Bernie! 🤞

Thanks Kate, yes the bush fires settled reasonably quickly and in the end didn't get very close to our property. It's not the first, nor will it be the last, but we take all the precautions we can to prevent a horrible outcome.
