Hi Everyone,
I am glad that you liked the look of my garden. Unfortunately, it is not like that now, at this time of year, but by late Spring its beauty returns. We put lots of spent coffee grains in our flower pots and the main garden as used coffee grains are a great fertilizer which would only be disposed of. I try to use terracotta flower pots whenever possible, as they are porous, and tend to be better for the plant rather than plastic. Also because our house is 123 years old the main garden soil contains lots of ash and pieces of burnt coal embers from the many house coal fires over the years. Another major reason for the richness of the soil here, is the presence of numerous earthworms. There are so many ! We also make our own compost in a large wooden cask which is slowly rotting away now, as it has been outside for over 30 years, but it is still reasonably intact.
Capt. Paul.

You could start a new trend with composted compost bins...
