First flower thrill

I’m going to try and upload two pictures (borrowed from a friend because I don’t have a camera) because I had the thrill of finding the first flower on my burgundy Melaleuca today!! There are large forests of these trees around here – you may have heard the term ‘paper bark tree’ – the forests here are of a broad leaved variety that has a lovely cream flower – when they are flowering the air is saturated with the heavy scent of their nectar – a strange honey type smell – there is a burgundy variety which is rather hard to get in nurseries and often people have planted them and then found that they are the cream variety – I’ve waited two years and … mine is BURGUNDY =))) and it’s every bit as beautiful as I hoped – these pictures are at different dpi and can’t be changed so my apologies if they don’t look so good – the picture of the cream one is the best representation of how the flower actually looks – let me stop blathering and up load – yipeee LOL
ok – the upload worked – if you transpose the colour of the burgundy one onto the shape of the cream one – you have the flower that has appeared in my garden today =)))

Such a beautiful colour ... this tea tree is just lovely when it's in full bloom. Congrats on your first flower!
