We Are Back

We have been on an little jolly. Spent 4 days in our caravan at Rutland Water.
Lovely site, views over the water, adults only so very quiet and lovely large pitches, we came back fully refreshed.
It was my husbands 80th birthday while we were away, we went to the cafe at Geoff Hamiltons garden at Exton and had a cream tea. We have been to the gardens several times, so this time we just visited the cafe. I knew Geoff quite well we used to sing in the same choir. Gardeners World has never been the same for me since he died.
Today has been a garden day, lawn mowed and edges trimmed, a couple of plants put in.
I have run out of cash for the garden, so just concentrating on what seeds I have in and plants getting potted on.
The hostas I got free all seem to have rooted and are showing their heads, I need some bigger pots to pot them on, have an appeal on freecycle for some. The removers managed to leave a sack of assorted size pots back at the apartment, we were not happy but nothing we can do about it now.
The campanula seedlings that were sent by a kind person on grows on you are doing well, another few weeks and I should be able to plant them out. The two clematis that I was nursing are both growing strongly, should be able to plant them soon.

Rutland Water is a lovely part of the world. I remember the area before the lake was built. I´m pleased that you enjoyed your little holiday. Any photo´s ?.

Belated Birthday Greetings to your OH Csarina, I'm pleased you enjoyed yourself, as its only a few miles from me I admit to being biased, its gorgeous up there, we haven't been to say hello to Geoff yet this year but hoping to when my youngest daughter has her holidays, she works at a school in Oakham so it went be long now.
