has been made on the strip of garden we are preparing for sq ft gardening.
As you can see the bed is now divided up into squares apart from the left hand side which has been left to plant garlic a little later. Once the garlic is harvested the dividers can go back in.
The plants in the squares are not staying there the begonia will soon be dying back and the corm stored for another year. The french lavender need to go in one of the little grow houses over the winter. The mint is waiting for me to cut it back and strip the mint off. I will take some cuttings to start a new plant and whats left will go in the recycle bin, compost on the new bed.
We are going away at the weekend for a few days, when we get back I will have a look on the market and see if I can get winter cabbage and caulis to plant in some of the squares, next year they will be grown from seed. Climbing beans almost finished, the courgette has gone into the compost bin and the compost spread on the herbaceous border.
The garden is starting to close don for the winter.

I hope you don't mind me saying I would keep the mint in a pot as it will spread very quickly.

What a lot of work you have put in. I was very interested to know why you made all the small squares - never seen that done before.
