Supposed to be wet - what happened?

It was supposed to rain today, I am so cross its been fine all day, I could have dried 2 lots of laundry outside ggrrrrr.
Yesterdays rain had made the soil easier to break down. OH finished digging out the weeds in the front and started on the piece in the back nearest the house. I have put some plants out to see what they look like, they are plants that do best in the shade, and thats the only bit of the garden which is shady for most of the day.
I need to sort out some other shade loving plants to go in this part of the bed. It is backed by a laurel bush which OH has cut back, its about half the size it was. There is also a kerria and an ivy a bit further up which is about to get the same treatment.
DD2 arrived back with OH, nice to see her, she comes about once a fortnight to make sure we are doing as we are told.
The veggies have benefited from the rain, the sweet corn is coming away strongly now.
Not sure if I mentioned it yesterday, we are getting a plastic green house to use next year. It was reduced to half price. It will stay in the shed until we are ready to use it next year.

Best to get advice from Goyers about the plastic greenhouse. Some have had disasters in gale force winds.
I have a small plastic one, tied to fence posts which is how it has survived.
