Exciting news!!

My mum and uncle each own my grandparents house and they’ve finally decided after ten years of renting it out to sell it! However, as we have had no interest from possible buyers my parents have decided to sell our house as its only ten years old and modern. Then we will buy out my uncles half and move in and restore the house and garden!

The garden is a very wide, very long garden 12 times the size of our current one! It has three huge ponds so my fish and pond plants etc will be moving too! All three ponds are in a row! The bigger two used to be an 8 shaped pond that was fed by the small upper third pond which overflows down a cascade. In the 90’s my granddad decided to make the front circle of the 8 shaped pond into a semi raised square koi pond! When we move in all three ponds will be drained and cleaned, the 8 shaped one will return as the square wall will be removed and then the third small pond will feed the waterfall which will fill the middle pond which will then run down its own waterfall into the front larger circle! The plan is then to fill in the third tiny pond with gravel as a bog filter and the middle pond will be filled with marginals and a small waterlily. Finally, the big pond will have one or two large waterliilies in the middle and a cobble beach with a few marginals growing in it! Watch this space everybody!! I’ll edit and add some hand drawn plans and photos later!!

Sounds wonderful.

The fish will/ can be moved straight away because it's on the same street as our current house! The only plants I'll really take are my acers, the rest of the plants are cuttings from the garden we're moving to anyway!

Wow, what an adventure - good thing you have had some practice with your pond at home! Just in case you don't know, when you move your fish be very careful as they resent changing water and it can kill them if done too quickly as I found to my cost.

I'm thinking that too! It'll be a gradual move and a permanent one!

Good luck with it anyway.
