If anyone would like advice on Gerbils

Hi Diane, thanks for the offer, but I haven't had pets since my daughter was a young girl, she's 42 now and has 1 cat and 1 dog, and the dog is scared of the cat, Derek.

Hi Diane, I am really pleased you are finding joy with gerbils. we have had gerbils now for 16yrs as each daughter has kept them. We have 3 currently with my youngest girl.

We kept gerbils years ago when my daughters were young. Fascinating to watch - we had them in large terraniums so they could tunnel and make dens, etc. Fun for all of us :)

We had Gerbils when the children were little, Gizmo was the first and he was a very cute affectionate little guy...

Thanks for the news. The young manager in the Pets Dept couldnt help me at all. I learned how to look after them and typed the information for him to copy, and give prospective buyers. They are easier than dogs,
and make an interest in the winter months.
Not so much work as fish, which need cleaning every day.
When I changed the litter after 2 weeks they got very excited, rushed around kicking it up in the air for 2 hours.
The cardboard tubing is too easy to chew, they fight over it so am just going to give them small slices. They share a Willow Ball and enjoy it, so thats alright.

we give ours the tubes from loo rolls and kitchen roll. If you put 2 in then they wont squabble over them. a loo roll inner lasts about 10-15 mins !

ours love fresh sawdust too Diane.
