Gardening on a massive scale.
A ‘green wall’ to improve the land.

Just at the lower part of the Sahara Desert a 15 mile
wide by 3,000 miles long belt of trees is being planted
to provide shade, improve the soil so that vegetables can be grown, and give the people more food.

Funded by their government and the French

Banks. 15 % have been planted so far, which I make 200 miles.
The people are being paid for doing the work which is good for them.

The trees are Acacia Trees, which dont mind their roots being dry.

I am sure all Grows on You members will wish them every
success.

Good news indeed Diane. There was a lady some years ago trying to do something similar, but obviously on a much smaller scale. I don't know what the outcome was eventually.

Hi Diane, it's god to hear that their own government is getting involved, and their own people are doing the work, Derek. [ Ps, I think 15% of 3000 is 450]

Am glad you gardeners are all pleased. Even in this country, its all about knowing what conditions plants
will accept.

Makes you wonder why it hasn't been tried before, but best of luck to them.
