I have been setting seeds in the greenhouse. Olley as normal has been watching (asleep in his bed as it is cold outside)
So far I have set . Nasturtiums Empress of India .and Tom thumb.Ageratum Blue mink (love this one Mum introduced me to it).Californian poppy ( I like this plant when it goes to seed it explodes) Pansys Jolly Joker,universal,ultimate black, true blue,swiss giants,rippling water. Nicotiana Sylvestris.Convolvulas,Blue Englis,morning glory foxgloves ,Mesembryanthemums(what I call open shut daisys my favorites)Petunia,Lobelia,Sweet peas,Lathyrus tinitanus rosea,Everylasting white pearl Bijoo Viola Bowles black Godition ,Dwaft mixed.Coleus (love those plants) And yes I have copied the spelling from the packets before anyone asks And thats without what I have in the cold frames. And the year has only just started . BRING IT ON

Just sown Morning Glory for the first time.
Spritz has warned me about slugs on these.
Do you have trouble with slugs eating Morning Glory ?

I agree Funky.......I plan my big seed sowing campain for this weekend. Been busy trying to move things around in the greenhouse ready for action and as Donnah says......BRING IN ON................

Still too early here to start seeds,but I'm inspired by this. This will be my first attempt at starting seeds. Just a few flats in the garage windows, not very impressive in comparison to this. Couple more weeks. Snowed here again this A.M.

hi i brought a packet of seeds tom thumb ,jewel of africa ,trailing and empress of india all collection of nasturtium ,i remember many years back talking to a gardener about these flowers he said you can eat the flower does anyone no if you can or not ,i do get peckish when im in the garden and do you plant them like sweet peas how milkys done his

Yes you can eat the flowers Juliano, i have seen chefs put them in salads, they are quite peppery apparently. I just put mine straight into my pots they are very unfussy plants even self seeding in practically nothing!! watch for caterpillars of the cabbage white they will strip them in a day if not careful
