terrible weather last night in ayrshire,, gales and torrential rain… have been outside to survey the damage… most of the leaves on recently bought maple have blown off also my fern looks very battered, but glad its only the leaves that have gone…..ellise

I'm in Glasgow and like you suffered high winds and rain last night. Thing is, I had just tidied the leaves off my lawns. Today you wouldn't know I had done it.

So it was widespread, then? We drove home in a downpour and the roads were under water. I thought that it was just localised.

Sorry you've had some heavy storms; hopefully your fern will recover. I suppose from now on we can expect very changeable weather and lots of wind/rain.
