The first Cuckoo

The weather has been wonderfully warm; we’ve done plenty of work in the garden and, this morning to really make us believe summer’s on it’s way, we were woken by the first cuckoo call of the year.
We’ll be visiting the local flower market tomorrow and starting the hanging-baskets. We’ll keep them in the greenhouse for a couple of weeks (just in case: “Cast not a clout…” as the old saying goes)…
Ah well; it’s 9am and the garden (as well as the cuckoo) is calling……

Just great, a true sign of summer coming!
Still quite breezy here on the East Coast, but have had some lovely days. Good hunting at the flower market, don't get dazzled.

Good luck and enjoy the flower market.
Well I did cast a clout yesterday and did some gardening in my shorts and a small shirt (the 2nd time this year now lol) but I will put the clouts back on very quickly if it gets cold again :o)
No Cukoos here yet
