Sheds and Beds

Well Finally we have got the roof of the shed fixed, so really looking forward to getting it full of garden paraphenalia. Just need some new windows and its fit to go.
As for the beds well I have re-edged and dug over the flower border and luckily got the perfect sized logs to place around the edges, and then I have the exciting task of planting them up. I tend to stick to cottage garden style planting and for some reason Pink and purple features lots, trying to break that up this year with some more colours.
But mostly looking forward to the re planting of the veg beds, My last blog was about them. I have been trying my hardest to get the local cats off as they obviously thought they were communal litter trays!! but seem to have cracked that now.
So its on with the planting, A gift of well rotted manure was very welcome and my Mum starting off some of the bits in the greenhouse has been a big help. Also gone mad this year and purchased a cherry tree and some soft fruit plants and looking forward to the figs!!
And once the hard work is done I can sit back and relax infront of my new little pot bellied cast iron chimnea that was delivered this week ….
Bliss !!!

I agree,Viv.When my Family ask what I would like for birthdays or xmas,I always ask for compost,manure,etc, or anything useful for the garden,as I prefer to buy decorative things myself (being tactful here,as everyones taste is different),but Thay never do,and just say,"we can't buy that" and laugh.You can see they are not gardeners,..they just don't get it,do they???

I know that feeling, for Christmas I always ask for book tokens as I love to wander around book stores looking for new books, but everyone says thats not a real present :-/

what a lovely gift ..manure..!! would like that kind of gift myself but non-gardeners just don`t understand hope the veg planting goes well ...:o)
